Water Only Hair Washing: Update 1

Standard

Blech, so my scalp condition has really brought me to the brink of insanity and it’s annnnnoooying.

My mom keeps telling me to go see a dermatologist, but I just can’t deal with putting more stuff on my scalp and I tried the Psoriasin shampoo, which was..meh…like it kinda helped, but I’d have to wash my hair everday. :/

Then I finally sorta kinda found something that works. On top of only washing my hair with just water, I’ve found that massaging argan oil on my scalp helps with loosening up my psoriasis scales and makes it easier for me to scrape them off. I gotta tell you, I actually love scraping my flakes off. I know, I know, it’s so gross, but there’s something so cathartic about just seeing them fall on my desk like it’s a beautiful snowy night.

My scales are found mostly around my hairline and then some random spots here and there. I wish I was brave enough to shave my head so that it’d be easier to deal with, but no no. I’m too fond of my hair.

Anyways, so I’ll massage argan oil into my scalp the night before I do a water-only wash. The great thing about argan oil is that it doesn’t make your hair super greasy, as long as you don’t use an insane amount of it! It’s expensive, so I have to use it sparingly, but it’s the ambrosia of beauty products!

The next morning, I’ll scritch my scalp in the shower and then wait for it to dry out. I’ll see flakes and all, so then I scritch some more and comb comb comb until the flakes have minimized. I do this routine about every 3-4 days. Ever since I introduced more exercise into my daily routine, I have to wash my hair more often, otherwise I’m just gonna be stinking up the whole place. 😛

I think I can live with this routine for now. It’s better than having to slather medicinal stuff that’s gonna kill my hair.

Anyone out there with scalp psoriasis that has a routine that works? Do share below!
